MCPE/Bedrock '98 McLaren F1

MCPE/Bedrock '98 McLaren F1

McLaren’s first road-going production vehicle which would later claim the title as the fastest car made from 1998 until 2005, and still has the title as the fastest naturally aspirated car ever made. Built by (if not obvious) the successful F1 constructor known as McLaren and styled/designed by automotive legend Gordon Murray, you can bet your life savings the machine that they’d create would be of high-end performance. So high-end infact that even after more than 2 decades since it's debut, it still holds a candle against more modern and present day supercars - and in some cases, is in even better. The F1 was equipped with so many special features that they are too many to list here, but one unique trait worth noting is the car's passenger seating arrangement. By positioning the driver's seat at the center of the interior and the two passengers on opposing sides behind the driver, an ideal lateral and vertical weight balance was realized. Even the trunk was positioned within the wheelbase to ensure optimal weight distribution. Mounted amidships was BMW's 6.1-liter V12 that could generate an upwards of 618 HP. Whilst other supercars of the day used forced induction through the use of devices such as turbochargers, McLaren decided to keep its powerplant naturally aspirated for better overall response and driving ease and as mentioned earlier remains as the fastest NA vehicle ever made. Performance and styling aside, the F1 was quite practical as an everyday ride. It was afterall originally intended to be a road-going car. It was easy and comfortable to drive but most importantly fast and could be used for track days. Perfect for those who want a ride that can be both a comfortable and sleek daily ride whilst also being a force to be reckoned with during track days.

• Car History

"The McLaren F1 is a sports car designed and manufactured by British automobile manufacturer McLaren Cars, and powered by the BMW S70/2 V12 engine. The original concept was conceived by Gordon Murray. Murray was able to convince Ron Dennis to back the project. He engaged Peter Stevens to design the exterior and interior of the car. On 31 March 1998, the XP5 prototype with a modified rev limiter set the Guinness World Record for the world's fastest production car, reaching 240.1 mph (386.4 km/h), surpassing the modified Jaguar XJ220's 217.1 mph (349 km/h) record from 1993. The car features numerous proprietary designs and technologies; it is lighter and has a more streamlined structure than many modern sports cars, despite having one seat more than most similar sports cars, with the driver's seat located in the centre (and slightly forward) of two passengers' seating positions, providing driver visibility superior to that of a conventional seating layout. It was conceived as an exercise in creating what its designers hoped would be considered the ultimate road car. Despite not having been designed as a track machine, a modified race car edition of the vehicle won several races, including the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans, where it faced purpose-built prototype race cars. Production began in 1992 and ended in 1998. In all, 106 cars were manufactured, with some variations in the design." - Wikipedia

• How to open the doors & How to open the trunk

i) Doors

To OPEN the doors, right click the car and the doors will open. Right click again to get in.
To CLOSE the doors, right click WHILE shifting/crouching.

ii) Trunk

To OPEN the trunk, right click WHILE shifting/crouching WHEN the doors are closed and the trunk will open!
To CLOSE the trunk, right click WHILE shifting/crouching.

In a nutshell, the concept is basically;

Right click/hold + Shift/crouch = Close/open the trunk and close doors
Right click ONLY = Open doors and to get in car ... (once the car's doors are open)

I've made a video showing how it's done so if you don't understand words, you can check that video out. The car in the video used is my previous Datsun 240z addon which shouldn't be a problem as the concept (animations, door and hood mechanics and sound effects) are the same for this addon (McLaren F1).

• Regarding Mobile Revised

Starting with my ‘77 Pontiac Firebird addon, Mobile Revised versions will not have the ability to open the hood (in this case trunk). Door Mechanism 2.0 will still be implemented for Mobile Revised versions meaning you can still open and close the doors. This is to help optimize gameplay for Mobile users.

TL;DR: Mobile Revised versions do not have the ability to open/close the trunk, but you can still open/close the doors.

• Advanced sounds

In total there are 6 sound effects for the cars. The list are as follows:

Startup sound effect - When the player sits in the car
Driving sound effect - When the player drives the car
Custom car damage sound - When the car is damaged / takes a hit
Door closing sound effect - When the player closes the door
Door opening sound effect - When the player opens the door
Trunk closing sound effect - When the player closes the trunk

This addon DOES NOT REQUIRE (any type of..) EXPERIMENTAL MODE.

• Confused about the download links?

So basically,

Win10 = High speed version, suitable for race track maps. (Minecraft speed of 0.68-0.7)

Mobile = Lowered speed version, suitable for small city maps. (Minecraft speed of 0.58-0.6)

Mobile Revised = Lowest speed version. Does not have the ability to open the hood (in this case trunk). Recommended for mobile users [lag reduction, easier to control](Minecraft speed of 0.44-0.46)

Note:

1) All the downloads below contain both the Behavior Pack (BP) and the Resource Pack (RP).
